Younger Sister, World Down Syndrome Day (2024)
Younger Sister is a collaborative project with my sister Nadine, who was born with Down Syndrome. The project is a collection of five postcards designed with Nadine in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, which takes place on March 21st 2024. Down Syndrome is when someone is born with an extra copy of chromosome 21 in their body. Sometimes this can cause health issues and learning difficulties, but we would say it enhances different ways of learning, experiencing life, and loving.
Each postcard represents something Nadine loves (such as weddings), or just something she was thinking about, they were each selected and titled by Nadine. This project is a small way of highlighting the life of someone with Down Syndrome through design methods and Nadine's own artistic expression and creativity.
